Recording Audio, Scores & Automation Overview 
FL Studio can record three types of data -
- Audio, internal mixer audio from instrument channels and external audio from a microphone or instrument connected to your soundcard inputs.
- Scores, note data from a piano keyboard or similar.
- Automation, volume, pan, knob, slider and mouse movements on FL Studio and plugin interface controls.
Choose which data types to record using the Recording filter, acessed by right-clicking the record button on the Main Transport Panel.

Recording Audio (mixer, line-in, microphone)
FL Studio can record the audio present on any number of Mixer tracks. This audio can come from internal instruments loaded in the Channel Window or from external sources such as a microphone or line-in jack
on your soundcard (ASIO drivers must be used). For more information see these pages:
